of Pharmacist in Community Pharmacy.
Community
pharmacist serves in the pharmacy store.
Pharmacy is the
practice of delivering drugs to patients.
A pharmacy is opened
in an area suitable for the sale of drugs.
A person who performs
the sale of drugs must be a qualified pharmacist.
He must have B.
Pharmacy or Pharm.D degree.
The area of the store
should not be less than 144 Square Ft.
Select the shop where
the locality is densely populated.
Arrange the proper shelves
along with the walls.
Arrange at least
one-ton A/c in the shop such that air circulation is satisfactory.
Arrange one
refrigerator so that all medicine sensitive to heat must be preserved.
A/c should be adjusted
to maintain the temperature of the pharmacy required by the drug laws.
Apply for the license
after arranging the shop, refrigerator, A/C, racks and counters.
Arrange Medicine in
the shop when you get the license.
Make a register to
note the record of narcotic-related medicine for relieving mental problems.
Try to keep maximum
items so that no patient is deprived of the required medicine.
You must dispense the
medicine according to the prescription except for orc drugs allowed under the
rule.
A/C must be kept on if
the temperature rises above 30 degrees.
No business is
successful unless you keep a good attitude against the customs.
Make a good
relationship with doctors for a better understanding of their prescriptions to
avoid wrong dispensing of drugs.
There are different
methods of keeping medicine on the shelves usually the alphabetical method is
recommended.
Running items are
generally kept inside the counters for better reachability.
A pharmacy is a place
where drugs are dispensed by a qualified pharmacist under the ministry of
health recommendations.
The front door must be
a transparent glass door with posters of different attractive remarks for a
better look and present a good picture of medicine kept on shelves.
The floor must be
properly built with a better look and easy to clean.
Pharmacists must keep
themselves clean and have good control over the identification of items to
avoid unnecessary loss of time in finding.
Pharmacists may guide
the patient, on how and when the different dosage forms are taken after or
before meals as for as the solid dosage forms are concerned.
Most pharmacists write
down the instructions on the labels.
It is recommended the
medicine with short expiry must be dispensed first as per the FIFO system.
there must be periodic control over the expired medicine.
Do not keep expired
medicine with unexpired ones to avoid the chances of mistakes.
Expired packs must
either be returned to the distributors or destroyed properly.
It is the
responsibility of dispensing pharmacist to deliver the right products as some
are having different strengths he must be aware of the strengths otherwise he
may dispense the drug with the wrong strength prescribed by the doctor.
Protect the pharmacy
with direct sunlight as sunlight may deteriorate the potency of the drug
recommended for the patient.
A dusting of shelves
and packs must be regularly done to avoid the accumulation of dust On their
outer side.
Mopping of the floor
must be done in the morning with a wet and then a dry mop.
Employ one or two
helpers to avoid the rush in the pharmacy and quick dispensing of drugs
demanded by the customers.
Keep the inventory
according to the area demand and keep only these drugs who are largely demanded
by the customers otherwise unnecessary stock will build up and economically
money will be blocked which is not a good sign for business.
It is recommended to
open the pharmacy early in the morning and close late at night consistently
which is necessary to build up the confidence of the customers.
