SOP For Stacking Of Packed Shippers on Pallets
Standard Operating
Procedure for Stacking Of Packed Shippers On Pallets.
1.0 Purpose
The purpose of this
SOP is to develop a standard procedure for the Stacking Of Packed Shippers On
Pallets in the packaging area of Pharmaceutical Industries.
2.0 Scope
This SOP is applicable
for stacking of different packed dosage forms in tertiary
packaging/shippers on Pallets in the main packaging area or relevant packaging
sections of the production department.
3.0 Responsibility
3.1 Packaging Operator
is responsible for Stacking Of Packed Shippers On Pallets.
3.2 Packaging
Supervisor is responsible for ensuring proper Stacking Of Packed Shippers On
Pallets.
3.3 Production
Pharmacist is responsible for the implementation of this SOP.
3.4 Q.A. Officer
monitors the compliance of this SOP.
4.0 Procedure
4.1 Packaging
Supervisor will ensure that pallets for stacking are properly cleaned.
4.2 The packaging
operator will place packed shippers on the cleaned pallets till the
height of 5 feet.
4.3 Don't increase the
height otherwise it will block the visual observation of the packaging area.
4.4 Discourage the
height till the Ceiling because it will disturb the air circulation.
4.5 Place packed
shippers on pallets in such a way that the direction of the arrow on shippers
remains upside.
4.6 When packed
shippers are stacked on a pallet to the prescribed height, wrap it with a thin
polythene sheet to avoid falling of shippers.
4.7 Affix a label on a
stacked pallet containing the Product name, Batch Number & Number Of
shippers.
4.8 If more than one
pallet is used for stacking the same product, mention the pellet number &
the total number of pellets used on the label of each pallet e.g for 3 pallets
1/3, 2/3 & 3/3.
4.9 Don't place
stacked pallets near doors or in a place where they may block the passage.
4.10 At the end of the
packaging process, transfer the stacked pallets to the quarantine area after
the required documentation.
