Soluble in water, ethanol 95% and ethanol 90%, methanol.
¨ Acidity/alkalinity:
Saturated aqueous solution at 25◦C having pH 8.
¨ Density:
At 24◦C density is 1.497 – 1.527 g/cm3
¨ Osmolarity:
2.25% w/v aqueous having same osmolarity as that of serum.
¨ Loss
on drying: Not more than 2.0%.
¨ Melting
point: 410 ◦C
