Difference Between USP and BP Syrup

Syrup:

a viscous concentrated solution of a sugar, such as sucrose, in water or other aqueous liquid; combined with other ingredients, such a solution is used as a flavored vehicle for medications.

Usp Syrup:

85% W/V

It means That the Solution will Contain 85 grams of sugar and final valume will be 100 ml, so then this solution is called USP Syrup.

BP Syrup:

66.67% W/W

It means That the Solution will Contain 66.67 grams of sugar and final valume will be 100 gm, so then this solution is called BP Syrup.
