Storage Conditions In Pharmaceuticals

Storage Conditions In Pharmaceuticals

In Pharmaceutical industry different storage conditions are required.

Drug substances are kept at different conditions as per their requirements.

Controlled Room temperature: Controlled Room temperature is ranging from 20 to 25◦C (68◦ to 77◦F ).

Most of the chemicals or drugs are stored at controlled room temperature.

Cool Storage Conditions: Cool storage conditions temperature is ranging from 8◦ to 15◦C (46◦ to59◦F ).

Substances that are unstable above this temperature will be stored at cool storage conditions.

Cold Storage Conditions: Also termed as Refrigerator Condition.

Temperature at Cold storage condition  ranging from 2◦ to 8◦C (36◦ to 46◦F).

USP reference standards, limit test standards an Vitamins are stored in Cold storage conditions.

Freezer condition: Temperature range for freezer condition is -25◦ to -10◦C (-13◦ to 14◦F).

Warm Condition: Temperature ranging between 30◦ and 40◦C (86◦ to 104◦F) is termed as warm condition.

Excessive Heat: Condition in which temperature rise above 40◦C (104◦F) is excessive heat.

Dry Place: An area in which at 20◦C the average relative humidity is NMT 40% is termed as Dry place.

Individual value may rise up to 45% but the average value should not exceed 40%.
